Dua Lipa turned her one-night Royal Albert Hall show into a live album

While her October performance at London's Royal Albert Hall was a one-night-only affair, Dua Lipa wants to make sure her performance doesn't go “Houdini.”

On Tuesday (November 19), the pop star announced the release date of her first live album, Dua Lipa Live from the Royal Albert Hall. Recorded during her Oct. 17 performance at the iconic venue and out Friday, Dec. 6, the new LP features Lipa singing her latest album in its entirety, Radical Optimism, with a number of her greatest hits sprinkled in for good measure.

In a statement, Lipa shared that her performance in the legendary hall was “unlike anything I've ever done” and that she wanted to have a permanent record of the performance. “For a long time, I had this idea of ​​repeating my music with an orchestra and when I did Radical Optimism, I was constantly thinking about the live element and how these songs would transform on stage, so when The Royal Albert Hall came along, it presented itself as the perfect opportunity to not only recreate these songs, but to celebrate them in such a beautiful and intimate way.” he said. “The experience was completely exhilarating and equally rewarding.”

The live album will be released just days before Lipa's special concert filmed at the Royal Albert Hall — An evening with Dua Lipa will air on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday, December 15.
