Fake listings for Britney Spears’ house have appeared online.
Images of the singer’s home were shown in a number of property listings after a hacker or hackers accessed a central property database.
Information about Britney’s mansion in Thousand Oaks, California was posted to “Multiple Listing Service”, which then distributed the information to a number of real-estate websites.
Asking for USD$9 million (£7 million), the ads appeared on multiple sites, including Realtor.com and Zillow, with the names of a number of real estate agents attached.
However after representatives for Britney, 42, were made aware of the listings they contacted the agents in question and discovered all the ads had come from a central source – MLS, which had been hacked. All listings were then removed.
Britney spent USD$7.4 million (£5.8 million) to buy the Italianate property in 2015. Sitting on more than 20 acres of land, the home itself covers 13,264 sq. feet.
Luxurious amenities include a large wine cellar, tennis court, infinity pool and spa area.
In June 2022, it served as the location to Britney’s wedding to Sam Asghari in front of a star-studded guest list that included Drew Barrymore, Madonna and Selena Gomez. Britney and Sam later split, finalising their divorce in May this year.
