Camila's first set in five years, I regressedtops this week's new Latin music poll.
In a poll posted Friday (Aug. 2) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin compilation and playlist, curated by Advertising sign Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted for the Mexican trio's comeback album, I regressedas their favorite music release of the week.
I regressed garnered over 80% of the vote, beating out other new releases that dropped that week such as Edén Muñoz's “NTP,” La Doña's “Confesiones,” Luis R Conriquez, Tony Aguirre, and “Tacha$ & Tu$$i” by Kevin Santin, plus the new one by Justin Quiles Permanent album.
In second place came JAZE's “mil procedures”.
With the 10-track set, the pop ensemble — made up of Mario Domm, Samuel “Samo” Parra and Pablo Hurtado — maintains its original essence of pop ballads but also experiments with other styles, including romantic pop tunes to progressive rock, shades of blues and even mariachi — in songs like “Diamantes y Amaranto” and the powerful “Corazón en Coma” with Edén Muñoz — and emotional lyrics in the trio's best style.
“We've worked hard to create something truly special,” Hurtado said in a statement. “This album is not only a return to our roots, but also a leap forward into the future.”
Last week, music fans crowned Grupo Frontera and Romeo Santos' bachata track “Ángel,” their first collaborative effort, as the winner, garnering more than 42 percent of the vote.
