The acclaimed Weekend Festival has quickly become one of Europe's leading electronic music festivals. This unforgettable two-day event, which attracted approximately 840,000 visitors from more than 50 countries in the last decade, has expanded beyond Finland to include Estonia and Sweden.
Weekend Festival annually invites 20,000 attendees to the beloved Vermo Arena, a racecourse located just 10 minutes from Helsinki city center. The event comes to life with top-notch production, top-notch sound systems, immersive lighting and more, upholding the organizers' outstanding reputation for presenting one of the biggest electronic music events ever seen in Finland.
This significant investment in the production of the Weekend Festival is evident in its appeal, with pre-sale registrations exceeding 15,000, significantly surpassing figures from previous years. The limited availability of tickets underlines the exclusivity of the event and the increased demand. Notably, this year's festival is exclusively for attendees 18 and older.
“We definitely thought that returning to our roots was exactly the right direction for us. Electronic music is again clearly growing internationally, and the Weekend Festival is the only festival of this scale in Northern Europe where you can live an experience of such complete electronic dance music.” said marketing director Atro Anttila in a press release. “Returning to Espoo was like a warm homecoming. With our finger on the pulse of the latest trends and attentive to the best rhythms in the world, we are ready to amplify the energy and bring the most electrifying parties to northern Europe. Get ready to an even more vibrant, bass-heavy and unforgettable festival journey as we continue to exclusively cater to the most passionate adult fans of the electronic music scene.”
This year's theme is “Disco Nation”, which features three notable stages to satisfy diverse tastes: WKND Stage for mainstream sounds, Future Stage for hardstyle and drum & bass, and CNNCT Stage for techno and house music enthusiasts. Beyond the live performances, attendees can enjoy a comprehensive experience with visual arts, interactive installations, and the camaraderie of other electronic music enthusiasts.
Musically, all bases are covered with dance music superstars Timmy Trumpet and Showtek, along with influential selectors like Boris Brejcha, whose label Fckng Serious takes over the Future Stage on Friday. Brennan Heart, Da Tweekaz, Sub Zero Project, Tungevaag and Will Sparks, among others, will also perform. Norwegian hitmaker Alan Walker, trance pioneer Tiësto and hardstyle heavyweight Coone also joined the bill in early December, among others.
The Weekend Festival is scheduled for August 2-3, 2024. You can buy tickets and learn more here.
