The British trio embrace their “aesthetic and feminine nature” in the new single
Support and take lustful! On Friday, FLO — the R&B trio made up of Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renée Downer — released their first single of 2024, “Walk Like This,” which hears the girls marching into stupidity without fear.
“I'm the cowgirl how I'm ridin' it,” Downer sings on the second verse. “Because me and this—they go well together.” Later in the pre-chorus, Douglas adds, “The way he squeezes it and touches it, oh (No), oh (No)/If he keeps this up, I might need crutches, like.”
The band said in a press release that they hope the track will make their listeners “feel confident and a little naughty” and that it adds “that extra swing to their ride.”
“It was the end of 2023 and we wanted to create something sexy, still fun and upbeat for the certified lover girl in all of us,” FLO said in a press release. “The song is about the energy you get when you embrace your sensuality and your feminine nature. It's okay to admit that a man does well now and then!'
The new single marks their first release since their track pack 3 of us, which included the songs “Control Freak” and “Suite Life” featuring Bellah. Last year, they also released “Fly Girl” featuring Missy Elliott and teamed up with Stormzy for “Hide & Seek.”
Rolling rock named the trio one of the Future 25 last year. The group is working on their debut album.
“We're trying to do things a little differently,” Douglas said Rolling rock at that time. “We have to be really honest with each other and with the people we work with. We have to make sure that what we feel is heard.”
“It's very important for everyone to speak up,” Quaresma added. “Don't let anyone make you feel like you're a diva or dramatic.”
