After spending over a decade behind bars, former Bad Boy recording artist G-Dep has finally been released, and the timing couldn't be more ironic.
According TMZ, G-Dep is officially free after serving a 13-year plea after pleading guilty to the unsolved murder of John Henkel that he says he committed in 1993. This man must have had guilt or really needed a good reason to get away from Diddy in peak of his Bad Boy career. I am just saying'.
G-Dep, born Trevell Coleman, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 15 years in prison in May 2012.
Now that Depp has finished his time and is ready to rejoin society, his former boss Diddy is looking at making his own bid in prison as authorities continue to investigate sex-trafficking allegations made by the founder of Bad Boy Records.
Per TMZ:
According to court documents, the “Special Delivery” rapper — who is now 49 — will have to check in with his parole officer, refrain from possessing weapons and drugs without a medical clearance and will have to get a license to to leave New York State … pretty typical stuff for a recently released ex-con.
G. Dep recorded his release on Thursday, where he was surrounded by friends and family who were all overjoyed to see him.
He earned an associate's degree during his incarceration and it's clear that he studied hard. Just grab a load of his massive book collection… the prison library may need to be replenished ASAP!!!
Good for Depp!
G-Dep received a pardon from Governor Kathy Hochul in December 2023, which was approved by the original prosecutor in the case and the judge who oversaw it.
The only question is, when will G-Dep return to the studio and how long before he's bombarded with questions about Diddy's ways and actions?
We'll see.
