Brat summer (RIP) has enough gas in the tank to make Billie Eilish break the fourth wall. She's the latest celebrity guest to appear alongside Charli XCX on this new remix of “Guess,” a weird noodle of an electro shock track about how annoying it is when everyone's up in your business but flirting with her. Eilish makes it even more flirtatious: Riding the high of her sapphic crush song “Lunch”, she has underwear on the brain and whispered seduction in her voice. The underwear video garnered two million views overnight.
Both remix and original brat and it's the same but there are three other songs so it's not The bonus tracks are produced by Harrison Patick Smith, aka Dare, who layers some extra bass underneath Eilish's part, as if she's just spotted the girl she likes and her heart is racing. The aura of realism and nod to the singers' real-life lyrics means that 'Guess featuring Billie Eilish' plays to its loosely self-referential style BRAT and especially “The girl so confusing remix with Lorde”, which revealed feelings of mutual admiration and envy. In “Guess” we get a look at a much more fun source of hidden tension between the best: the kind where it's all love, but one of them is straight, so it's not. It's honestly an underrated topic! Charli's role on the remix hasn't changed much, but Brat-ified Billie deserves to extend summer one more day.
