One of the few things DC has going for it cinematically is villains that people can't seem to get enough of.
From the new upcoming Joker continuation of HBO Max Batman spinoff series, The penguinDC has a lot to do in these projects until James Gunn officially reboots the DCU with the long-awaited Superman: Legacy film. Yesterday, a new trailer for the upcoming Penguin series was released, and from the looks of it, it's going to be a blast Soprano-sh case.
Centering on Oswald Cobblepot's rise to Gotham City's crime boss, the series takes place after the events of 2022. batman, which saw Gotham City's criminal underworld experience a power vacuum with the death of Carmine Falcone. Now that there is no real crime lord running the streets of Gotham City, Penguin (Colin Farrell) is looking to put his stamp on the city and take that place for himself by any means necessary.
With the “support” of his mother who tells him she deserves a “better life”, Oz Cobb stabs, shoots and kills his way to the top as Batman is nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately for him though, Carmine's daughter Sofia has been released from Arkham Asylum and seems to have some skin in the game as to who will take over her dad's day-to-day operations.
This looks really good. It can't be done forward.
