As one of Southern California’s premier summer festivals, HARD Summer is once again expected to deliver two days of hard-hitting beats and groovy tunes in the sunshine.
Taking place this weekend at Inglewood’s Hollywood Park from August 3-4, Insomniac’s Summer Soiree will feature five stages spread across a massive space right next to SoFi Stadium. Each stage will offer a wide variety of electronic tastemakers from across the spectrum.
For many of these artists, performing at HARD is one of many stops on their busy summer touring schedule. Known as the peak of festival season, these summer events can see artists traveling all over the world, and as such, require some crucial travel items for maximum comfort.
We explored this year's lineup and asked five artists to share what their most essential items are for this summer's touring season. From headphones to street food, here are some of your favorite DJs' must-haves.

“It’s hard to say. The most essential thing I use for this festival season is my Nike Dry-Fit shorts. In summer it’s hot and humid everywhere. Shorts are a must during festival season.”

“The most essential thing for a good summer tour is the street hot dogs after the festival. After a long day, there is something comforting about their fat. It is also quite essential to have some friends to dance and have fun with!”

“My essential pieces for summer touring are my cycling jerseys from the 2000s, which have to be paired with trousers to make a perfect outfit because the colours have to match. I carry several to suit the weather and the party atmosphere, going from the most colourful to the most technical.”

“The hours on tour can be very hectic and staying healthy is hard. I always bring running shoes to try and get some miles in the next day because I have a marathon in a few months. And it keeps you a bit sane. But also beer. I can’t go on tour without it.”
