In a recent podcast interview, Dillon Francis talked about sobriety and how the lifestyle gives him confidence and creativity.
talking to The XLNT showa podcast for discussions about the culture and production of electronic dance music, Francis highlighted the snowball effect of drinking, especially when performing multiple nights in a row. In his case, the hangovers lasted the same amount of time, which affected his work.
“I don't want to have something that makes me feel good at my job,” he explained. That feeling, he added, ultimately led him to embrace sobriety.
With each sober performance, Francis found his confidence levels increasing as the “uncomfortable” feelings dissipated. He says he became more comfortable standing in front of the masses and getting up to the microphone to talk to them. “I'm in a much better place,” he proclaimed.
Francisco said he is now approaching three years of sobriety and “can't imagine going back.”
