IMPEL has announced a new partnership with AMRA, the global digital licensing and management platform owned by Kobalt. With this new agreement, IMPEL, a global licensing collective consisting of 57 independent music publishers in 14 territories, is now offering its services in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and various Southeast Asian countries for the first time.
Through this partnership, IMPEL can now connect its members (which includes ABKCO, Reservoir Media, Beggars Music, Bucks Music, CTM, TRO Essex and others) and maximize member collections in these markets with the most efficient and transparent licensing system of AMRA.
The AMRA agreement builds on the global network that IMPEL has already cultivated through its partnerships with SACEM (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent) and LatinAutor (Latin America) and CMRRA (North America).
“This agreement with AMRA marks an incredibly important milestone for IMPEL as we can now say that our licensing capabilities are truly global,” says IMPEL CEO Sarah Williams. “Our growth has been phenomenal in just over five years and now being able to offer our members access to digital licenses in the dynamic markets of APAC and Brazil is truly exciting. We look forward to working with AMRA to capitalize on these great opportunities.”
“We are excited to join forces with IMPEL and the Sarah Williams team,” says AMRA CEO Thomas Erickson. “At AMRA, we've always championed independent music publishers, and we're excited to bring our world-class services to this vibrant community. With our outstanding territorial licensing coverage and modern technical capabilities, enhanced by significant investments in our platform, we are poised to offer unparalleled ingest, processing and matching services to IMPEL publishers.”
