Pretty Lights and her band have an uncanny ability to leave a cosmic imprint on any city they perform in, leaning in and listening closely to the distinct beats of each city on their tour.
This was certainly the case when Soundship Spacesystem landed in the oldest city in the country, St. Augustine, Florida. The three-night tour transformed the city's timeless charm into kaleidoscopic ecstasy.
In a twist of fate, the Pretty Lights show coincided with St. Augustine's iconic Night of Lights festival, which illuminates the city with more than three million twinkling Christmas lights.
Some of the highlights of the highly anticipated weekend included Pretty Lights' electric rendition of Chappel Roan's hit “Pink Pony Club,” as well as Lynyrd Skynyrd's timeless “Freebird,” the latter of which featured a rousing live guitar performance by Pretty Lights' Production. Manager and audio engineer, Phil Salvaggio.
While the band's covers, samples and live flips captivated us, Pretty Lights' original music lit the fuse of the night's explosive energy. “Rainbows and Waterfalls,” “New Heights,” “Only Yesterday,” and “Color of My Soul” were among the many highlights of the weekend.
The St. Augustine Amphitheater served as the ideal backdrop for this magical weekend, with perfect views of the stage throughout the venue. The amplifier, which was built to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of St. Augustine, rooted the performances in the city's history while allowing for stunning, futuristic visuals and world-class sound.
