Organizers of Escapade have wrapped up another dazzling music festival in Ottawa.
Scheduled for June 21-23, the massive festival once again captured the hearts of Canada’s loyal dance music crowd over its first two days and nights. Unfortunately, unsafe site conditions due to heavy rain forced organizers to cancel Escapade’s third and final day, prioritizing the safety of attendees, performers, and staff.
Tchami and Malaa’s special “No Redemption” set was one of the highlights of day one, alongside DJ Diesel’s traveling festival, “Shaq’s Bass All-Stars,” which hosted a special takeover of the stage. Day one’s lineup also included sets from rising superstars like ISOxo, Knock2, Mau P, and EDM.com Class of 2024 pioneers Levity, as well as performances from dance music icons Zedd and Steve Angello.
Day two of Escapade, headlined by FISHER, ILLENIUM and Steve Aoki, was equally impressive. Bass and dubstep acts Ganja White Night, OddKidOut and Tape B took to the decks alongside a wide array of stars including Chase & Status, ACRAZE, Maddix, Vini Vici, Lucas & Steve and more.
Following the unfortunate cancellation of the last day of Escapade, the organizers quickly issued an official statement. advertisement to provide clarity and information regarding refunds.
“We certainly understand the disappointment and emotions and share your frustration,” the statement read, “however, the unpredictable nature of the weather left us no choice but to prioritize safety above all else.”
As a result of the cancellation, artists who ultimately did not perform included Armin van Buuren, The Chainsmokers, Claptone, GG Magree, James Hype, Kayzo, MORTEN, SLANDER and Subtronics, among others.
It remains to be seen what organisers have in store to make up for the lost day in 2025, but considering its pedigree, fans of the festival can expect a major rebound. You can keep up to date via Escapade's website.
