It may be vanilla, baby, but Jack Harlow has a good head on his shoulders in the new Dunkin' teaser the company released on Thursday (February 8), ahead of Super Bowl Sunday and all the highly anticipated commercials.
The new spot picks up where Dunkin' last left off, with aspiring pop star Ben Affleck continuing his path to music greatness. The new teaser finds him getting some advice from six-time Grammy nominee Harlow, who also has three Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits. 1 to his name, while the two sit in a beige car and have a heart-to-heart.
“That's why I know it's right,” says an impassioned Affleck, dressed in a bright fuchsia turtleneck and black jacket, his Boston accent thick as he explains his desire to pursue his musical path. “It's because there's a voice: 'Don't do this! Terrible mistake!'”
“This may be what you need to hear,” the White men can't jump the actor points out to the Oscar winner.
But Ben isn't having it. “NO! That's the wrong voice!” the self-proclaimed Dunkin fan insists before the “Lovin On Me” rapper tells him he could be the actor's “voice of reason” trying to guide him down the right path.
“Naaaaaah,” dies the actor-director. “I don't have that voice – trust me!”
In the coffee and donut company's previous ad, which arrived during the Grammys telecast on Feb. 4, Affleck channeled wife Jennifer Lopez as he prepares to launch his music career. As part of his preparations, he offers a new moniker and persona he calls B. Lo (“That's the bad version, obviously”), as well as a new look that includes the aforementioned vibrant shirt and jacket, as well as a giant donut on a gold chain, reminiscent of Flavor Flav's giant watch necklaces.
Affleck also appeared in Dunkin's 2023 Super Bowl ad, running one of the chain's toys in a Boston store before Lopez showed up to show him who's boss.
