Jeff Parker and his ETA IVtet have announced a new album. The easy way out is released on November 22 and includes four pieces of improvised jazz, totaling 80 minutes. The first album preview is “Late Autumn', which comes with a music video directed by Mikel Patrick Averywith footage of mobile toy sculptures constructed by the artist himself. Check it out below.
ETA IVtet – guitarist Parker, saxophonist Josh Johnson, double bassist Anna Butterss and drummer Jay Bellerose – took their name from the Los Angeles cocktail bar where they had a weekly residency from 2016 to the present. closed in December last year. Their 2022 album, Mondays at Enfield Tennis Academydisappeared from recordings of several sessions at the venue. The new album, instead, was recorded and mixed live, in the bar, on a night in January 2023.
