Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend is expanding his repertoire with a new project. On August 30, the singer-songwriter and instrumentalist will release his first collection of children's music, titled My favorite dreamThe announcement was accompanied by a pre-release single featuring his family, titled “LOVE.” Listen to it below.
My favorite dream The album will feature nine original tracks, all produced by Sufjan Stevens. Additionally, as part of a collaboration with Fisher-Price, the album will include three instrumental versions of songs that children may recognize from their own toy lines.

“I’m in the midst of parenthood,” Legend shared in a statement. “My parents loved singing at home, making up bedtime songs and songs to motivate and inspire us, and Chrissy and I love singing to our kids as well… In our home, music is so important to how we interact and communicate with our kids.”
As for working with Stevens, Legend highlights the fellow singer-songwriter’s “sense of fantasy, adventure and dreaminess” as the factors that made him the “first and only choice” for the role of producer.
John Legend is currently on tour with a schedule that runs through October. He'll be visiting cities like San Diego, Tampa and St. Louis in the coming months. Buy your tickets here.
