Just when it seemed like Jordan Brand was mixing up the Air Jordan 1 silhouette any way they could over the last few years (and reducing its popularity in the process), the team at the Jumpman Group created something for the laziest of men.
According Hypebeast Jordan Brand will introduce a new iteration of the classic Air Jordan 1 that will basically be a slipper and call it the Air Jordan 1 'Golf Mule'. The cut-down version of the classic silhouette will feature the OG black-red-and-white colorway that helped propel the Air Jordan 1 to Olympic heights, so don't be surprised if you start seeing these popping up in places heads wouldn't dare to wear the 'Bred' Air Jordan 1, like the pool or the beach.
Per Hypebeast:
Dressed in iconic “Bred” colorways, the new slip-on silhouette makes its debut, brought to life as a laceless, heelless Air Jordan 1. While they're branded “Golf,” we're guessing players would likely wear them as a transition shoe rather than on the course.
Notable design elements of the shoe include the complete removal of the shoe's laces and eyelets, leaving a sleek black leather upper, complemented by a red Jumpman logo and 'GOLF' branding — the same branding is found on the heel of the sole. Aside from its new construction and the removal of the laces, the rest of the shoe stays true to the traditional Jordan 1 elements, sitting on a white rubber midsole and red outsole.
Yeah, we don't know about those. If a reverse swoosh version of Travis Scott drops though, watch out!
There's no word on when they'll be released, but we better believe they'll be bought and worn by style-conscious heads while living their most casual lives.
