On Thursday, Netflix announced a partnership with Iglesias for an upcoming documentary series about the singer's life, “Me Olvidé de Vivir.”
“After many speculations, books and documentaries that I have not been a part of, for the first time I have decided to tell the truth about my life to a global company like Netflix,” Iglesias (father of Enrique Iglesias) said in a statement. . “After much thought, finally, a very moving letter sent to me by Bela Bajaria, head of content at Netflix, was enough to convince me that Netflix was the ideal company to develop this project.”
“I feel grateful to many people from many countries who have supported me and given impetus to my life,” he added.
The new series is set to tell the life story of how he became the first “Catholic star” and non-English artist to break into the American and Asian markets, according to a press release. The show will celebrate Iglesias' 55-year career, which includes songs such as “Soy un Truhán, Soy un Señor,” “Hey” and “Con La Misma Piedra.”
