Kaskade is now set to become the first in-game DJ in Super Bowl history after replacing Tiësto, who retired from hosting today.
The news comes just hours after Tiësto announced the regrettable cancellation, which he attributed to a “personal family emergency.” Kaskade, who was recently nominated for a Grammy Award and regularly hosts high-profile DJ residencies in Las Vegas, will now replace him.
“As a kid who grew up in Chicago watching the @NFL Super Bowl every year with my family, this opportunity to be a part of it is absolutely mind-blowing,” Kaskade said in a post on X. “Las Vegas has been my second home.for the last decade, as an architect of creating a landscape that includes House and Dance Music residencies as part of its destination.Being the first electronic musician to be part of the full Super Bowl game experience held in Las Vegas “It feels like coming home and I am beyond excited to represent my community.”
Kaskade will perform before kickoff and remain an in-game DJ while playing during game highlight breaks, becoming the first DJ to perform throughout the entire Super Bowl. Portions of his performance will air on CBS' Super Bowl LVIII broadcast and live on the DJ's social media channels.
Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled for February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are 1.5-point favorites at the time of this writing, according to ESPN.
