English musician Kate Nash has announced the release of a new single OnlyFans page to help fund the continuation of her current tour.
The new page is part of a new campaign called 'Butts 4 tour Buses', which launches alongside the first date of the musician's UK and European tour.
“While touring is the best job EVER, right now it's technically what you could call a passion project for many artists in 2024,” Nash explained in a statement. “A recent research from Pirate Studios found that while ticket and festival prices are skyrocketing and we're seeing a select few in the industry become millionaires or even billionaires from touring, the majority of musicians and artists struggle to afford to actually play shows .
“Travel, accommodation, food, promotion and employee costs have also increased, but musicians are seeing no change in their concert fees to pay for all these rising costs,” he continued. “So this Christmas I'm asking that you buy either a piece of my merch or my ass on my new ONLYFANS account katenyash87 to support me paying big wages and putting on a high quality show as I won't sacrifice either. (I don't need to stream my music, I'm good for .003 of a penny per stream, thanks) Pogue Mahone everyone! 🍑❤️”
Nash isn't the only artist using OnlyFans as a source of supplemental income. In July, fellow English singer Lily Allen opened her own account to sell photos of her feet, after explaining on her podcast do i miss you that he was considering the choice.
“I have a lady that comes in and does my nails,” she told co-host Miquita Oliver. “I was informed that I have five stars on WikiFeet, which is quite rare. My feet are very highly rated on the internet.”
“He said I could make a lot of money selling footy content on OnlyFans,” Allen added. “And I say, 'No no.'
Last month, Allen gave an update, noting that the income from the new career had already outstripped the revenue from her monthly Spotify streams.
“Imagine being an artist and having almost 8 million monthly listeners on spotify, but making more money than having 1000 people subscribe to your foot photos,” Allen wrote on social media.
Allen's remark came in response to someone who had negatively commented on a post promoting her OnlyFans account. “Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars/musicians in Europe and then being reduced to that,” wrote the fan, to which the 'Smile' singer added: “don't hate the player, hate the game.”
