Kelly Clarkson performed another U2 cover to her studio audience The Kelly Clarkson Show.
After performing “Pride (In the Name of Love)” on her MLK Day show on Friday (January 26), Clarkson sang a slightly shortened version of U2's “Mysterious Ways.”
Standing at her microphone, Clarkson looked straight into the camera as she belted out the chorus: “It's okay, it's okay, it's okay/ It moves in mysterious ways/ It's okay, it's okay, it's okay/ Brighten my days, brighten my nights, oh.”
The singer and talk show host wore a fitted, denim, flared jumpsuit — which she called “a grown-up onesie” — for the episode, which featured guests like Jamie Oliver and Brittany Mahomes.
Clarkson, who said People She walks a lot in New York and follows her doctor's diet advice, earlier this month she joked about the evolution of her wardrobe amid her recent weight loss journey. “Man, that's tight,” she said of a curve-hugging black jumpsuit she wore to a Las Vegas show. “So I lost weight and they're like, 'Let's put you in this tight s–t.'
“Mysterious Ways” is released by U2 Achtung Baby album, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1991.
“Mysterious Ways” and “Pride (In the Name of Love)” aren't the first U2 songs Clarkson has performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show. He also brought U2 songs to Kellyoke's popular segment in 2021 (“Beautiful Day”) and 2020 (“I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For”).
