After a hot performance from Kendrick Lamar earlier this week with “Euphoria,” his pgLang stable is doubling down and taking a page out of Drake's book by going “Back-to-Back” with his latest diss track, “6 :16 in LA.”
Released early Friday morning (May 3), Lamar accuses Drake in a barrage of attacks of having traitors on his OVO team, rapping, “You ever think OVO worked for me?/ Fake bully, I hate bullies/ Gotta be a terrible person/ Everyone in your group whispers that you deserve it/ Toosie can't get away from it, it'll just come back.'
Lamar's onslaught continued, calling out Drake's brothers when he said his cronies are backstabbing him. “100 n—like you got a paycheck/ and 20 of them want you as a victim/ and one of them is actually/ they're next to you / and two of them are practically connected to your lifestyle,” he says.
With “Euphoria” racking up a staggering 9.2 million streams on Spotify on its debut day, Lamar's decision to strike again has fans on edge, eagerly awaiting a return from the OVO frontman. Drake, seemingly unfazed, dismissed Lamar's initial move by posting a clip from the 1999 rom-com 10 things i hate about you on Instagram. However, his cryptic comment during his performance with Nicki Minaj at the Pink Friday tour stop on April 30 hinted at potential retaliation: “You know what time it is — you know what I have to do.”
