Kendrick Lamar's winning streak continues as he was spotted filming the visual for Drake's Mustard-produced track “Not Like Us” in Compton, California over the weekend.
K. Dot brought Mustard with him and was on his way to his hometown for the video shoot on Saturday afternoon (June 22).
Complex was on stage when YG arrived on the video set, and other footage captured Lamar in spots around town like Compton City Hall, Tam's Burgers and the Nickerson Gardens projects. Fan videos emerged of what looked like a block party as everyone surrounded K. Dot and sang along to the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, the fourth of his career. According to NBC News Los Angeles, hundreds of fans showed up to the shooting.
It's unclear when Lamar plans to leave the visual. Advertising sign has reached out to its representatives for comment.
“[Kendrick’s] bringing brotherhood and positivity back to Compton,” said one fan Complex of the buzzing unity in the city thanks to Lamar.
Lamar delivered an unforgettable experience to fans at his Pop Out concert when he took over the Kia Forum on June 19.
The Compton native belted out Drake's live debuts like “Like That,” “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us,” which he performed five times in a row and brought several LA luminaries on stage with him to metaphorically dance at Drake's Tomb. .
Snoop Dogg was blown away by Kendrick who was able to unite different sections of the city under one roof peacefully that night and crown him King of the West.
