Kendrick Lamar, currently Hip-Hop's king of the cultural mountain, is having an incredible week following his widely celebrated June Fourth concert in Inglewood, which capped his official coronation as the people's champion. This weekend, Kendrick Lamar is shooting a video and it looks like while the beef with Drake supposed to be over, security measures have been beefed up just in case.
TMZ has learned that Kendrick Lamar's team is beefing up security for a video shoot over the weekend for what many online are assuming is K-Dot's smash hit “Not Like Us.” The agency has learned through inside sources that the video is being shot in Kendrick Lamar's hometown of Compton and that all the proper permits and such have been filed.
More from TMZ:
For security reasons, our sources won't say how many deputies have been selected for the concert — which is set to take place throughout Compton. However, we're told Kendrick's production company is paying around $120 an hour to have them available to him.
While law enforcement sources tell us police are aware of Kendrick's recent beef with nemesis Drake, they tell us no known threats have come forward at this time.
As it is, it just seems like a logical choice, considering that Drake, who may have moved on, may have overzealous fans hoping to prove themselves.
Plus, the beef between Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar took some dark turns, so the feelings are hurt on both sides in all honesty. That said, it seems the West Coast is in too deep to deal with such matters.
