On Sunday (Feb. 4), social media was abuzz when news that Killer Mike won the Grammy Award for “Rap Album Of The Year” hit the internet long before the Grammy Awards even aired. But unfortunately, the celebration was short-lived as not long after it was reported that Killer Mike was removed from the festivities in handcuffs for unknown reasons.
Now, TMZ states that the Michael The rapper was booked for citizen's arrest after getting into it with a security guard at the Crypto.com Arena. According to the report, Killer Mike allegedly knocked down the security guard in question because he “didn't get out of his way fast enough,” and that in turn led to a citizens' arrest, which resulted in Mike's photos and videos to be driven away from the site. handcuffs. Although Killer Mike was not actually arrested, he was arrested and removed from the area after the incident.
Per TMZ:
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ… Mike was booked on a misdemeanor charge Sunday afternoon, following the arrest of a private individual at the Crypto.com Arena. We're told KM is accused of knocking over a security officer after they didn't get out of his way fast enough — the apparent result of which appears to have been caught on tape, as seen here.
We've got a video that appears to show Mike being chased outside in the rain, where it looks like security personnel are trying to stop him… with Mike looking determined to outrun them. You can't see any “knock-downs” as law enforcement described to us — but he does appear to be aggressive with the security guards.
Terrible end to what should have been a night full of joy and celebration for Killer Mike. The incident came after Mike picked up three Grammy Awards, including “Best Rap Song”, “Best Rap Performance” and as we said earlier, “Best Rap Album”.
While we're sure the incident put an end to Mike's night, they can't take away from the fact that the man won those Grammys and will be wearing them somewhere in his house.
