This has been just walking up the stairs or for all of us walking through the rain today, that rain soaked driveway. Thank you so much. Hello everyone. I love being in this room. And it's ridiculous to say it, but I've never been in a room like this, a pure and vital celebration of women in music, and I have been for 37 years. That's why it's especially nice to be here and wonderful to be in your company. Thank you Billboard for this incredible honor and recognition.
On the one hand, my heart continues to beat; On the one hand, it seems completely surreal. Is this really happening? How did I get here? And then on the other hand, simultaneously, I know the steps it took to get here physically and mentally navigating the ups and downs and trying to never lose sight of the solid ground in between. I also know that there is luck, destiny, a vocation. and help. In my case, a lot of help from a lot of people for a long time. So thank you to everyone who has been there to help me. My team, many of whom are here tonight. Predominantly women, thank you very much. To my fans, wherever you are, thank you, I just love you. Could you go to this possible, I love your thanks.
Closer to home, thanks to my family, and especially my mom, who is my icon and my best friend, and believe me, you know that tonight is very inspiring. I'll call her as soon as I get my phone number. I know tonight is about celebrating, but I thought on my way here I thought I'd be grateful for all the times. But we are not at peak moments. There was no fun. But those challenges are the lowest ones, the ones that have these things that sometimes we have to overcome. I wanted to give a big shout out to all the terrible times. Thank you for teaching us that there are horrible moments, but they happen and it depends on how we navigate them and what we do with them. So I'm not looking forward to the next one, but it will come thanks to all the moments that make up this free one. And finally, the music. I'm literally more and more in love with music all the time. So music, I love you. And thank you. Have a good night everyone.
