Chicago post-punk trio Lifeguard have shared two new songs:Ministry / Energyand a cover of Wipers' 1980 classic 'Telepathic Love'. Both were recorded in Los Angeles with Randy Randall of No Age. Out now digitally, but will also be released on 7″ vinyl on October 25th via Matador. Check out both tracks below.
Next weekend Lifeguard will be performing at Pitchfork Music festival in Chicago, Illinois. Also scheduled to perform on the same day as the trio are Jamie xx, Carly Rae Jepsen, Unwound, De La Soul, Bratmobile, Wednesday, Hotline TNT and more. tickets are still available.
Last year, Lifeguard made their five-song Matador debut Dressed in trenches and combined this EP with 2022 The crowd can talk ER. That same year, they teamed up with fellow Chicago indie-rockers Horsegirl – whose guitarist, Penelope Lowenstein, is the older sister of Lifeguard drummer Isaac Lowenstein – to cover the Stone Roses single “I Wanna Be Adored” for Unacceptable Color.
