Earlier this year, a chaotic passage by rapper Mel V Chapo appeared on my social media timelines. Mel V might not be tall enough to ride most roller coasters, but in the clip she hits aggressive choreography and swings from a ladder as Jeff Hardy made the tag team belts, all while growling over a bass-enhanced beat. I've been following her music ever since. Her latest single, “Broke Hoes,” features one recently wave of the pre-Whole Lotta Red Carti nostalgia, as it brings her Sergeant Hartman freaks to a hilarious beat of Carti's groovy plug classic. It doesn't even say that much—but sometimes all it takes is a headbutt to break something.
