Dolo2K: “The Silver Case”
I treat Dolo2K's new songs like daily comic strips: Every time I click I wonder what worldly activity or dilemma is currently on the mind of the Los Angeles-based rapper and producer. The low stakes and mundane storylines make his spacey, melodic rap feel grounded. On The Imagining Project, things on his mind range from girl problems to trying to land a big match. Most of the time he just seems to be wandering, inside his own head, as the fictional self-producer hits (under the pseudonym Carvacio) chops and unrolls. “I just woke up high playing Tekken 2“, he sings and raps on the first line of the beloved “The Silver Case”. A few existential thoughts come and go and later he decides he wants to buy Tekken 8. Sounds a lot like my boring Sunday mornings.
