For years Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi have been involved in a weird and unnecessary beef, and even though the former seems ready to bury the hatchet and move on from the conflict, Lupe Fiasco isn't letting anything go too easily.
Over the weekend, Cudi took to the road and tried to squash the drama between the two rappers by taking to X, formerly of Twitter, and apologizing to Lupe saying he “loves him” and hopes he can “find it in your heart . to overcome this.” He even came out and told his fans that Lupe actually “loves me, don't screw it up” and that the Chicago rapper is “growing up” with himself at this point.
It seems those kind words weren't enough for Lupe to accept the olive branch extended by Cudi. He responded to X by saying, “it's not enough… you need to talk to me.” Apparently Lupe wants to air the situation personally (privately?) with Cudi. Cudder also publicly said she sent him a DM, which left fans scratching their heads.
Luckily for everyone, the two apparently did take things up a notch with Cudi, tweeting, “Just talked to Lupe. He made for a great conversation. I know I was wrong and I told him I shouldn't have done what I did.” Lupe responded to the tweet with his two cents saying, “I really appreciate it my friend… peace and blessings.”
The “f*ck sh*t” Cudi is referring to is when he criticized Lupe for offering fans a personalized verse for $500 a decade ago. Although it seems like such a small thing to end a friendship, any time you knock someone's bum, you expect some kind of fallout to follow.
Still, we're glad to see the two back in each other's good graces. Maybe we'll have a collaboration piece from the two sometime in the future.
