Malóne and Sounds Of Rituals have joined forces with Jay Wheeler for a sensual remake of the reggaeton superstar's global hit, “Cuando Fue.”
Out now via EMPIRE in conjunction with Linked Music, Dynamic Records and Malóne’s WHYNOTUS label, the official new version of “Cuando Fue” transports you to a beach party after dark where inhibitions melt away like sand between your fingers. With its unique blend of reggaeton, soul and underground house, it’s set to set late summer club nights alight.
That's par for the course, though, for Malone, a longtime resident of Miami's iconic Club Space who is fluent in the unspoken language of the dance floor.
“My team at EMPIRE offered us the opportunity to remake this original track. I was really excited because I was already a fan of the song and of Jay Wheeler,” says Malone. EDM.com“Being able to work with such an incredible Latin artist like Jay was a special opportunity. More than anything, I wanted to bring an energetic beat to the original. Something that would work really well on dance floors and in the high-energy moments of club nights.”
Her bold approach paid off. A gripping blend of Latin pop and house beats, the song sizzles with an infectious bassline, its heart-pounding beat drawing listeners to the dance floor. Malone’s deft production touch and Sounds Of Rituals’ afro-house influences transform Wheeler’s impassioned vocals, weaving them into a hypnotic weave of percussive textures.
EMPIRE, the renowned record label and music distribution company, played a key role in bringing the song to life, Malone said.
“It's been great so far. Having a team and a platform for my label and my music has been a huge help,” he explains. “Nowadays, there's a lot that goes into releasing music and having a strong team is just as important as anything else. We have a great process, they really believe in my music, so that's made everything easy and enjoyable to work with.”
