Not surprisingly, Justin Timberlake is getting a slap on the wrist after his DWI antics.
It has been detected Deadlinethe “Cry Me A River” singer will only have to pay a small fine but won't face drunken driving charges after accepting lesser charges as part of a plea deal.
Per Deadline:
Under the deal, the “Can't Stop the Feeling” singer will plead guilty to a traffic violation, a much lesser charge. In addition, Timberlake will have to pay a fine of between $300 and $500, depending on what the judge decides on September 13, when the deal is expected to be sealed and made official.
The plea agreement will reduce the original misdemeanor charge of Driving With Intoxicated. That charge carried up to a year behind bars and a $2500 fine.
While Timberlake made it, the site reports that he can no longer drive in New York state for nearly another year because he refused to take a breathalyzer test when Sag Harbor police pulled him over.
The office of Timberlake's attorney, Edward Burke, who has been adamant about his client's innocence, said Deadline“is not commenting at this time,” following news of the plea deal.
What happened the night Justin Timberlake was pulled over?
Timberlake was snapped on June 18 after a night out on the town with friends in the luxurious Long Island summer beach destination of the Hamptons.
In the criminal complaint filed by the arresting officer, Timberlake was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign while driving a rented BMW SUV.
The officer described Timberlake as “intoxicated” with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and a “strong odor of alcohol” on his breath.
Timberlake told the officer he only had one martini and refused to take a breathalyzer test.
He was on a week-long break from his international tour promoting his latest album, Everything I thought it was.
