While appearing on DJ Self's YouTube series Suitable. 5HCash Money millionaire Mannie Fresh talked about the early days of the Big Tymers — the group he was in with Birdman — and how there was supposed to be a third member from another legendary Southern rap group.
“Pretzel [B] actually it should have been on Big Tymers. A lot of people don't know that,” Mannie told DJ Self. “But I think for reasons that — it kind of clashed because you have to think about how strange the dynamics of the South were.” Adding, “Pimp [C] did things with No Limit? Ban did things with us. So I think it would have made a big splash in their team if any of them had joined [No Limit or Cash Money].”
Bun B still maintained a good working relationship with Fresh, appearing on three of the group's five albums and other Cash Money projects, such as the Hot Boys' 1997 debut album. Get it As You Live!! and the legendary producer's debut album in 2004 The Mind of Mannie Fresh. “I swear, some of the lyrics that Bun put on some of the Cash Money sh– they're like, 'Oh my God.' I used to be like 'How are you going to keep up with this sh–?,'” he said. “He just said some incredible sh– and his flows!”
Mannie and Bun still share the same bond. “To this day, our relationship is still like that. The bun is like, “S-, whatever you do, I'm in it.”
