Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj have been engaged for a while now in a rap beef that no one asked for, but some saw coming, and while fans are wondering how the drama started, Megan herself doesn't seem to have an answer.
In a recent interview with Bulletin boardMegan Thee Stallion touches on her relationship with Nicki Minaj and admits that even she isn't sure where their issues stem from. While she's been dealing with everything from the fallout from the shooting incident that landed Tory Lanez in jail to her very public breakup with Pardison Fontaine, her beef with Nicki Minaj seems like small potatoes, and while she's not backing down from challenge, Megan is just as confused as we are about how it all started.
Billboard reports:
You took shots at Nicki Minaj. Is there a chance one day for reconciliation or even another collaboration?
Even today I don't know what the problem is. I don't even know what could be compromised because to this day I don't know what the problem is.
While Megan doesn't know what sparked this sudden rap battle, Nicki Minaj may have some answers as she seemingly kicked things off when she dropped “Big Foot” which many saw as a direct shot at Megan Thee Stallion after her Megan seemed to have a subliminal shot at Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty on “Hiss” saying “These h*es don't be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan's Laws / I don't really know what the problem is, but I guarantee you don't want me to start.”
While it may never be known if Meghan intentionally took a shot at Nicki and her husband, social media seemed to think so, so Nicki responded with “Big Foot” and now here we are.
On the other hand, Megan gets along well with some of her other peers like GloRilla and Nicki Minaj's nemesis Cardi B.
I really love Cardi. I really love Glo. In the industry, you really don't meet many girls who want to see you succeed. You meet people, and I'm not just going to say girls, but you don't meet a lot of artists who want you to be successful because they're afraid that sometimes it's going to take away from them. Music is a competition, rap is a competition, but these two ladies, I feel like we all love to see each other do good things. We love to see each other win. Sharing the stage with people who want to see you do good and want to see them do good felt very refreshing. It felt like we fed each other. I felt like we were helping each other. Being on stage with them made me feel good because I knew we were proud of each other.
Yeah, that probably won't sit well with Nicki Minaj either. I'm just saying.
