Following Michael Bibby's announcement in December that he is officially cancer free, the British producer is celebrating with a comeback tour entitled One Life.
The trip will include a stop on July 6 at London's 45,000-capacity Finsbury Park. In a press release the producers of the event, Cream and festival Republic, describe this show as “the biggest electronic show ever held in the capital”. tickets go on sale Friday (Jan. 26.)
“I'm excited to give something back to my hometown after all the support and love I received during my cancer treatment,” Bibi said in a statement. The full lineup for the event will be announced in the coming months, with the remaining One Life tour dates also forthcoming.
One Life The tour will support cancer charities including The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which supports the work of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where Bibi received his treatment. Fans can make a donation to the organization when purchasing tickets.
The July show will come 13 months after Bibi's team announced he had been diagnosed with CNS lymphoma, a rare form of brain cancer. The London native was forced to cancel all of his appearances while he received treatment. His first appearance since starting treatment was in September when he played a surprise set at the DC-10 in Ibiza as part of the closing party for his label Solid Grooves.
“To every person who sent me the support, energy and strength to fight, thank you from the bottom of my heart and the staff [at the Royal Marsden hospital in London] for literally saving my life, I will forever be indebted to you,” Bibi's wrote when he announced his release last month. “Thank you so much.. I'm still very tired, on a lot of meds, my body hurts and my hair is gone… but I'm excited to come home, process, heal and prepare for the future with you all.”
