Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will lock horns in the squared circle on Friday night (November 15) in a highly anticipated bout as the former heavyweight champion takes on a much younger fighter. During the obligatory photo opportunity showdown, Mike Tyson gave Jake Paul a little peck on the cheek to let him know what was in store tonight.
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul were in Texas at the weigh-in ahead of their super fight at AT&T Stadium, which will be streamed live on Netflix. As is the custom at most combat sports events, Tyson and Paul greeted each other after the weigh-in with all the theatrics fighters use to intimidate or size up their opponents.
In a video clip that has since gone viral, Paul rushed Tyson and swarmed him, prompting Iron Mike to unleash five fingers to the face in yet another slap that was heard around the world. The pair quickly split up with a smiling Paul mocking Tyson at the time.
According to a report from ESPN, a Tyson insider claims that Paul stepped on Tyson's foot during the faceoff and had enough trash talk with the step being the final straw.
For what it's worth, Tyson, 58, weighed 233 pounds and Paul, 27, weighed 220. To date, that's the largest age difference between two fighters in professional boxing history.
Tyson, who has a record of 50-6 with 44 knockouts, has not fought professionally in 19 years. Tyson participated in a pair of exhibition bouts, including a clash with Roy Jones Jr. Paul's last fight came last July with a sixth round stoppage of Mike Perry by TKO.
Friday night's fight between “Iron” Mike Tyson and Jake Paul begins on Netflix at 8 p.m. EST. Learn more here.
