Morgan Wallen was arrested and jailed Sunday night (April 7) in Nashville after the top country singer allegedly threw a chair off the six-story roof of a popular bar on the city's busy Broadway Street.
On Monday morning (April 8), Advertising sign obtained a statement from Wallen's attorney, Worrick Robinson of Worrick Robinson Law, confirming the arrest. “At 10:53pm Sunday night Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is fully cooperating with the authorities,” he said. at press time, a representative for Wallen, 30, confirmed that the singer had been released from prison.
According WSMV, an arrest warrant revealed Wallen was on the sixth floor roof of Eric Church's Chief's Bar Sunday night around 10:45 p.m. when witnesses said he picked up a chair and threw it over the roof. Two Nashville Metro police officers were reportedly standing down on Broadway when the affidavit said the chair landed just three feet away from them. Officers reportedly spoke with bar staff and witnesses and reviewed security footage to confirm Wallen's alleged actions. The incident occurred during Church's bar opening weekend.
According WKRNwitnesses reportedly told officers they were standing next to Wallen and saw him “pick up the chair, throw it over him, then laugh.”
Wallen was arrested and booked just after midnight and charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, posting $15,250 bond to secure his release around 3:30 a.m. Night tour. The singer's next court date in the incident is May 3. is scheduled to play at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on May 2nd and 3rd.
