Shaquille O'Neal is no stranger to the world of rap, and with beef running rampant across the genre, the NBA icon is ready for battle.
NFL Hall-of-Famer Shannon Sharpe was strongly criticized Shaq on his Nightcap podcast earlier this week after the former Laker criticized Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, who won his third NBA MVP in four years.
Shaq said Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander he “deserved” the victory the title, and he said it straight to Jokic's face in an interview after collecting his latest award.

Sharp disagreed with O'Neill's remarks. “Shaq should have five MVPs,” he said. “He sees a guy like Nikola Jokic who's not as dominant as him and gets three to four years. When you're historically great, they talk about you as a basketball great, the GOAT, and Shaq was never brought up.
Sharp went on to accuse Shaq of jealousy. “I think a part of him is jealous of that … It's hard for me to put anybody in the GOAT conversation with an MVP. If Shaq had my work ethic, he would have 40,000 points,” he added.
O'Neal took to Instagram early Friday (May 10) to deliver a scathing and lengthy response on his Instagram, with a photo that had Sharpe ranked as the No. 51 greatest player of all time.
“You took me supporting @shai as jealousy?? It shows how smart you are and how you say anything to get clicks. so here's a clickbait for you. if you are not ranked in the top ten in your profession, then you cannot speak for Me. don't forget I know what you did to get where you are,” he wrote.
“I'm jealous lol sounds like you are jealous. I know you try to stay relevant by gossiping on your podcast. we don't believe you. you need more people and in case you forgot. 4 rings three final Mvp top 50 and top 75. google me.”
His caption sounded like a fiery rap. Hours later, Shaq served up an actual Shannon Sharpe diss track on Friday's episode The Big Podcast.
“Oh no, Shannon Sharpe man, you're way below me/ Your whole attitude is faker than the new rapper, you're soft before you fly, you'd rather tweet me/ I was in three different cars when you were in three feet/ The all I see are dollar signs, they come in 3-D,” he gushes.
“Make it hot, there's no way I'm skipping my degrees/ You ain't in my place, you're like a goat/ I've got him calling me Rocky like I'm RiRi,” she spat. “I'm reaching for the green bag, I don't mean lawnmower / Jet flying, foreign driving, best buying, downpour.”
