NERO is back with “Draw Energy”, the third single from their long-awaited album. Towards the unknown.
The album, due to be released sometime this year, is the influential trio's first since 2015. They said the new single has a transhumanist theme, exploring the relationship between humanity and technology through the sound of a machine they found in London.
“This song started with the first sound you hear on the track, which was a piece of machinery we recorded in a parking lot. We knew we wanted to build something heavy and energetic around it, but with a 'human meets machine' feel. '.'” they said in a statement.
The technological element is immediately introduced in “Draw Energy” before the human element comes into play by virtue of a staccato chorus: “Don't stop. Take me. Breathe. Draw energy.”
With its mechanized saws and bright drums, the new single follows the release of “Truth” in October and NERO's first drum & bass song in 14 years, “Blame You.” Additionally, after revealing that they found a stash of CDs with unreleased music from the 2000s, they would later confirm that the content will be posted to their fan club page throughout the year.
