Men lie, women lie and numbers don't, but are numbers indicative of the true value of something? Nicki Minaj he certainly seems to think so.
Responding to Megan Thee Stallion's 'subliminal' diss on 'HISS', Nicki Minaj clapped back with the offbeat track 'Big Foot' and although most Hip-Hop fans called the song completely dumb, Nicki feels she struck gold as he boasted about the numbers the song garnered upon its release.
Taking to Instagram to take a victory lap, Nicki felt that the track's 2.45 million views on its first day of release was something to celebrate, and captioned it as much, even though many of the fans they didn't feel the cut.
“Imagine being supported by a machine and coming against me, THEE MACHINE. Imagine spending money on a music video and a full campaign just for the sound of a blank screen with just my RAPS to get more views,” Nicki's caption read in part.
“A rap I made for fun on IG LIVE broke APPLE MUSIC & YOUTUBE records in minutes. NOW WAITING ON SPOTIFY!!!!!!! WHO WANTS TO PLAY WITH VICTORY???? 🤣 Spotify shouldn't lie!!!!!! They REALLY STREAM my music. 😎 #Bigfoot This is what happens when you think FAKE BOTS, PAID BLOGS & FAKE SCAMS will win the war in 2024, that b*tches you and then you run into THAT B*TCH. #HeavyOnIt@tateko1 let's GOOOOOOOOO #GagCITY WHO GOT CRAZY?!?!!!!!! Idc,” Nicki Minaj wrote.
Well, numbers are numbers, so we can't take that away from her.
Despite this, fans shouted out the comments about the song and had some spikes saying things like, “This is so embarrassing!!!!! The song is TRASH and you're ruining your legacy 😢” and “You're really trying to get those stats like you've done something.”
But even with the backlash Nicki garnered for her “hit” diss song, many fans came to her defense and praised her for making “history” with the fall of “Big Foot” with posts like “[C]congratulations and this is by no means the end! You're just warming up.”
Now we wait to see if this is the end of the Megan vs. Nicki beef or just the beginning.
