With Nike suffering all sorts of financial losses in 2024, the Swoosh brand plans to make 2025 a miserable year with the massive amount of retro goblets returning throughout the year. To ensure even more success, Nike is teaming up with a toy company to break into a whole new market that no sneaker brand has yet touched.
Nike has officially announced they've entered into a new partnership with The LEGO Group (yes, LEGO) to help “create new and exciting opportunities for kids and families around the world,” and we're hoping to release some LEGO bricks that turn into some of our favorite Nike sneakers (not Panda Dunks though, respectfully).
In a press release about the amazing collaboration, Nike explained why they decided to go with the LEGO Group for their latest venture, and we're not crazy about it.
“At The LEGO Group, we believe in the power of play to inspire and develop tomorrow's builders,” said Alero Akuya, The LEGO Group's Vice President of Brand Development in a statement. “By combining the creativity of LEGO play with the energy and passion of sport, we want to inspire new ways for children to play and be creative. We are excited to partner with NIKE, Inc. on this journey and help rethink how creative play and sport can unite. Together, we will create unique experiences that will engage and excite children around the world, inspiring them to explore their imaginations.”
A special digital animation was created to promote the collaboration.
But when we get some LEGO Jordans to build at home?
There's no word on when we'll be getting any Nike x LEGO merchandise, but we better believe it's going to be a tough cop whenever they decide to drop it like it's hot.
