NLE Choppa wants his LGBTQ+ fans to know one thing: he's an ally.
Despite making some progress, Hip-Hop still has a polarizing relationship (looking at you, Boosie) with the LGBTQ+ community, but NLE Choppa argues that rappers can change that.
NLE Choppa's fan base has expanded thanks to recent hits like “Slut Me Out” and “Slut Me Out 2”, which has attracted the LGBTQ+ community.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, the Memphis-born rapper appeared at the Atlanta Black Pride event and explained why he does what he does best on that stage.
“A lot of mutaf**ks will ask me, 'Man, you rapper, what are you doing in a club like this?' Well, I say “F**k them ni**as.” Do you want to know why?' NLE said while addressing the crowd. “I'm not going to lie, man, every day we wake up and fight for acceptance every day. Whether it's the color of our skin, whether it's our weight, or our sexuality.”
And he continued, “And listen, at the end of the day, I believe in one thing, I feel like everybody's equal, no matter how they drink their water, how they eat their food, how they piss, or crack, or muthaf**kin' sleep, can you feel me?'
This is real.
NLE Choppa is on a new path
NLE Choppa has been making headlines not only for his music but also for his recent lifestyle changes. He went on a celibacy journey, exposing him practiced sperm retention.
In a recent cover for CassiusLifeNLE Choppa also discussed going vegan and making changes he said he “desperately” needed to make.
“I thought a lot about myself. I changed my personality, I stopped hanging out with certain people,” Chopa told the website. “That's why I say the pandemic was one of the most important parts of my life. … Just knowing that I had a daughter who is conceiving right now, it really made me grow.”
Greetings to NLE Choppa.
