The Oasis reunion show ticket fiasco saga continues: On Tuesday, October 29, it was announced that thousands of tickets purchased through third-party resale sites for the band's tour dates in the United Kingdom in 2025.
The news was confirmed by the reunion shows' promoters, Live Nation and SJM Concerts, who said BBC that tickets from unauthorized secondary platforms will be canceled “soon”, after which they will again be available through Ticketmaster (the official seller) at face value.
This move comes after Oasis and the promoters issued several warnings to, as a company spokesperson said, “not purchase tickets from unauthorized websites, as some of them may be fraudulent and others subject to cancellation.” From the time of initial sale, the only verified sellers are Ticketmaster and resale partner, Twickets.
Despite that warning, thousands of tickets became available on resale sites just hours after initial sales opened. According to the company spokesperson, “four percent of the tickets ended up on resale sites,” which is about 50,000 tickets.
As Live Nation and SJM put it, tough counter-selling measures like these were implemented “to crack down on secondary ticketing companies that resell tickets for huge profits.”
However, Viagogo has indicated that continue selling tickets for Oasis as long as it is legal to do so. “Two percent of Oasis tickets are on Viagogo and Stubhub,” said representative Matt Drew. “We will continue to sell them the way the regulator says we can. “We are addressing a clear consumer need, we will continue to do so on that basis.”
Currently, reselling tickets is generally legal, as long as it is done legitimately and not as an act of resale, but laws vary by region. At this time, it is not explicitly clear whether the cancellations will be for all upcoming Oasis shows or just the UK ones.
Oasis first announced their 2025 UK reunion shows last August. Weeks later, they announced additional dates in the United States, Japan, Mexico and all of Europe. For more information, check out the full list of their upcoming dates.
