The song, which comes with an Offset-directed visual, marks the second time the rappers have collaborated this year
Bending is easy for Offset and Gunna in the new music video released for their latest collab “Style Rare.” Directed by Offset and Joshua “Mid Jordan” Farias, the video is a set piece for the new single that finds both rappers rattling off a list of luxuries.
“I'm in this mess with no regrets/Just me in my coupe, ISS/I'm dripping when I walk, I'm possessed/This rose looks good on my flesh/These Rolls Royces back to back, yeah/I'm swingin' in this mess like a jet ski,” Offset raps in the opening verse, just before abandoning his travel plans: “To Florence, Dubai next week.”
Gunna's verse, on the other hand, bends both material and personal achievements. “My diamonds and my gold in a chest, a Damier Louis V chest/Put it on, I can go Damier, RIP Virgil, he gave me the credit,” raps the late designer Virgil Abloh. “Ten years from now, look back on this mess and I promise I'll do the best I can/This growth, they see as iconic/Let's go, let's count this money.”
“Style Rare” marks Offset and Gunna's second collaboration this year. The Atlanta rappers previously joined forces on “Prada Dem,” a track from Gunna's latest album One from Wun. With “Style Rare,” Gunna continues his string of appearances that recently expanded to include guest spots alongside Normani on “1:59” and Tyla on “Jump” featuring Skillibeng.
Meanwhile, Offset is expanding his creative palette as a solo artist. Earlier this year, he embarked on his own Set It Off tour in support of his self-titled album. “'SET IT OFF' is more than a phrase, it's an atmosphere we create together,” he said at the time. “This tour isn't just a series of concerts, it's a journey into my mind.”
