An authorized Ol' Dirty Bastard documentary is set to air on A&E, the first official documentary about the late Wu-Tang rapper. Directed by Sam and Jason Pollard, the two-hour special will air at 9:00 PM ET on August 25 before being made available on demand the following day.
The makers of the documentary had access to Ol Dirty Bastard's parents, bandmates Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, his wife Icelene Jones, son Bar-Sun Jones and others — including Mariah Carey — notes a press release. Jones said, “I'm so glad I got this documentary about my husband's life out on the screen… Like all hip-hop, I've missed his energy. This work let me know that he is alive and well in all of our hearts.”
Originally slated for 2022, the documentary is produced by Pulse Films, Four Screens and the Ol' Dirty Bastard Estate in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment.
