“I've definitely known for about two months,” the Years and Years singer admitted. “It was hard to keep it a secret! I told my mum and then I said you shouldn't tell anyone and she felt very scared that she had to carry the secret. But I've wanted to do it for a long time – since I was a kid – so this is so exciting, I can't believe it.”
Olly revealed that his first Eurovision memory was Gina G, but he's also a big fan of Sam Ryder and last year's entry Mae Muller, and that his Eurovision entry has inspired a whole new album….
He said: “The song I have for Eurovision I made with Danny L Harle, who is a brilliant pop producer, and we basically did a whole album, so I've got a lot of music ready, so I'm so. so excited it's coming.”
Olly also teased Ronan and Harriet when he revealed that the Eurovision song isn't a ballad but “if it was a cocktail it'd be a sour amaretto…!”.
