Omarion is set to star in and executive produce an upcoming original drama series titled Wild Rose. According to Varietythe former B2K singer and solo star will take on the lead role of Roosevelt (aka “Rose”), in the series ALLBLK which follows the contract killer whose family also owns a non-profit organization.
A description of the series created by Deji LaJay (Escape from Paradise) reveals that, “behind the non-profit facade is an elite, family-owned, hired-gun business known for taking down high-profile targets.” After his wife and daughter mysteriously date and disappear, Rose sets out to find them only to discover a “web of secrets that make him question his identity within his own family.”
In a statement, the singer known for his Grammy-nominated 2005 debut solo album THE and in 2005 No. 4 Billboard Hot 100 collaboration on Bow Wow's “Let Me Hold You,” said, “I'm ecstatic to be back on your TV in a new way. I can't wait for Allblk fans and others to see a different side of me. I've never played like this character. Let's just say I'm stepping out of my comfort zone. Every new project is an opportunity to learn and grow and expand my range as an actor. Rose is not your average assassin.”
In addition to releasing three albums with B2K in the early 2000s, Omarion has released a handful of solo albums and starred in the movies You have been served, Fat Albert and Someone help meas well as singing in a Yeti suit in its fifth season The masked singer in 2021.
Wild Rose – which will air on AMC's Black TV/movie service ALLBLK – is set to begin production in Los Angeles in November, with a premiere date and full cast yet to be announced.
