This week, the new owners of PleasrDAO, an organization focused on investments and collectibles, filed a claim claiming that the former Pharma Bro “ retained inappropriate copies of data and files.” The filing cited multiple instances where he played the album during live streams after his release from federal prison and the loss of the project pursuant to his securities fraud conviction.
On June 30, 2022, during another live stream, Shkreli played a portion of the album again and again admitted that he had kept the album, stating, “Of course I made MP3 copies, they're like hidden in safes all over the world.” mentioned in the document. PleasrDAO also points to several instances where Martin openly admitted to violating the terms of the sale by sharing the music with his friends and associates, even writing to X, ex-Twitter, “can I just upload the mp3s if you want? additional email?'
The presiding judge gave Martin Shkreli until Friday, August 30 to file an affidavit confirming that he has turned over all existing copies he has made of the album. In addition, it also has documentation of how many copies it has made, who it has shared with, and whether it has profited from it until Friday, September 30.
