For months it has been rumored that the next Poison film would be the final entry in Sony's wildly successful franchise and when it was revealed that the title was Venom: The Last Dancewhich more or less confirmed everyone's suspicions.
While details about the film are still mostly under wraps, Sony has released the first trailer for Tom Hardy's swan song as Spider-Man's deadliest foe, and it really looks like this might be it for the deadly protector of Marvel as it basically waves goodbye to the Sony Spider-Verse.
In the new trailer we find Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) aimlessly walking the streets in the same outfit he wore during the scene after the concerts. Spider-Man: No Way Home, but soon finds himself not only being hunted by the US government, but also by symbiotes from his planet who crash land on earth. Now on the run from both humans and aliens, Venom must figure out how to stop his brothers from taking over the world while trying to keep government soldiers off his ass.
Needless to say, it looks like Venom will need to be sacrificed in some way, shape, or form to finish what he and his ilk started in the first installment of Sony's Spidey spinoff franchise.
Will Venom really die before even meeting Spider-Man in this universe? With hints throughout the trailer that this is the end of the road for Hardy's reprise of the popular anti-hero, it looks like Tom Hardy vs. Tom Holland (Spider-Man) may never happen. We'll probably have to wait and find out.
