Remember the Beats pill? It's still a thing and getting a much-needed refresh, here's what you can expect

You may have forgotten about the Beats pill, but Apple hasn't, and it's refreshing as much.

It has been detected The lip via 9To5Mac's Details from anonymous sources, the Beats Pill is being modernized and will feature a number of upgrades. The peripheral has been frozen since the discontinued 2022 model, the Pill+.

Per The lip:

Reported upgrades include up to 24 hours of battery life, IP67 water resistance, faster and more reliable pairing/switching of devices with Bluetooth 5.3, and built-in Find My tracking on Apple and Google networks. 9to5Mac also says Apple plans to update the Pill's charging and input ports to USB-C, from USB-A out and Lightning in.

According to reports, the new Beats Pill will also have a detachable strap which has already been shown off by the likes of LeBron James, confirming its existence.

Sound quality will also improve, giving users a richer experience, a product of the new Beats Pills redesigned and repositioned drivers and tweeters.

According 9To5Macall that's left is pricing and a release date, and we could be using the latest device from the company that made Dr. Dre sometime this summer, which would be the perfect window for a release.

The Pill+ was priced at $230, so we can expect the new Beats Pill to be in the same ballpark. It will also be available in three color options: black, gold and red.
